Letter from Representative Gloria Johnson

Updated: Apr 30

It’s time for a change, Tennessee families need a governor who understands the kitchen table issues they face each day — not an out of touch multimillionaire.

It’s Representative Gloria Johnson here and I represent House District 13 in the Tennessee legislature. I’m sure you have seen the headlines, but Bill Lee’s puppets in the legislature are wreaking havoc on our state. Under his leadership, they are passing legislation that harms every day Tennessee families and he is wasting no time in signing this policy into law.

Tennesseans desperately need doctors and hospitals that don’t bankrupt their families, but Gov. Lee does nothing, though it would not cost our state one penny to expand Medicaid. One million students need public schools with resources and highly trained teachers, and Gov. Lee does nothing as we remain 46th in funding in the country. Too many families can’t afford food and rent, and Gov. Lee is bragging about fast low-pay food jobs and cuts to unemployment.

It’s time for a change, Tennessee families need a governor who understands the kitchen table issues they face each day — not an out of touch multimillionaire.

Yesterday, a group of Tennesseans across the state, from all different backgrounds, launched Beat Bill Lee, a PAC to stop the power grab from fringe right wing Bill Lee and the dark money interest groups he represents. But we cannot do this alone.

Are you able to chip in or sign up for a recurring donation? Every cent counts and will go toward replacing Bill Lee with a governor who will work with Tennessee’s legislature to actually improve lives for Tennesseans.

Thank you so much for your support, it’s going to take all of us working together!

Rep. Gloria Johnson
